Jelentős szerepet játszott a kertészeti kiállítások rendezésében, a hazai modern szőlő- és gyümölcstermesztés fellendítésében. Ennek érdekében a faiskolák sokaságát létesítette. Gazdag szakirodalmi munkásságot fejtett ki.
